There is no reason we cannot have a robust and expanding economy in La Porte County, Porter County, and NW Indiana.
To do this, we must create the conditions conducive for economic growth – cut taxes, reduce government spending, eliminate costly and burdensome regulations, and foster an economic climate that gives businesses confidence to invest and create jobs.
We know from experience that government spending programs don’t work. Government doesn’t create wealth. Government doesn’t inspire the ingenuity and creativity of the American worker. Government merely saddles us and our children with an ever growing burden of debt that acts as a drag on the economy. Excessive government spending does not create sustainable good-paying jobs. The bulk of job creation comes from private sector businesses.
I support cutting taxes for working Hoosiers and the businesses that hire them. Lower taxes means less money taken by government and more money left for businesses to expand and create jobs and more money left in the pockets of Hoosiers to spend as they see fit.
I support reducing the regulatory burden on businesses. Senseless regulations are costly. The more money businesses must spend to comply with government mandates, the less they have to reinvest and hire workers.
I support maintaining Indiana’s balanced budget and high credit rating. Hoosier families should live within their means and save for emergency situation. Our Indiana government should do so as well.
If we maintain a balanced budget, cut spending, lower taxes, and minimize government regulations (control), our Indiana economy will continue to grow and create jobs.
